Who I Am |
Welcome to my website! My name is Maria Monte, and I’m very excited to teach each and every one of my students this year. I am a 15 year veteran in the Somerset Public Schools teaching first grade. I obtained my M.Ed. from Bridgewater State College and taught for 5 years in Acushnet Public Schools. I have two children who attended Somerset Public Schools. It has been exciting to watch them grow and learn. As they are now 17 and 19, I have had insight into the skills needed to be successful socially and academically at every level. Along with my husband, I understand parenting is hard work but also rewarding.
With each year that passes, my love for teaching only grows as I become more experienced and watch more young minds develop. And while most think that the only exchange of knowledge in the classroom is from the teacher to the students, I’ve found that this exchange travels the other way, as well. I’m constantly learning from my students , expanding my knowledge as I expand theirs, allowing an environment that’s prime for learning. I like for my students to have fun while learning, but in order for them to grow and flourish in my class, I also ask for them to work hard and stay focused. You (parents) can do your part by providing a stable, structured environment that fosters learning. I am eager to help students realize and work towards their full potential this year, so together, let’s have a fantastic learning experience! |
